We announced in issue 33 (April 2021) that the magazine will become digital from issue 34. There were a number of reasons for this, including shrinking economies of scale, increasing postage costs and extra paperwork for the new customs requirements for copies sent to Europe.
Many of you have let us know that you particularly value the print copy, so although the magazine will primarily become digital, we will now introduce a small limited edition print run for those who still want a printed copy.
Limited edition print copies will only be available to pre-order, as we will only order the small quantity required. Dark Star is run on a not-for-profit basis, so we ask that the costs to do this are covered. This means a limited edition print copy will cost an additional £2 per copy starting from issue 34. There is no publication date yet for issue 34.
If you already have a subscription with issues remaining:
- You will receive an email when the next digital copy is available - this is included in the subscription fee you have already paid.
- Optionally, you may choose to pay the additional £2 per limited edition print copy here - simply choose the number of copies remaining in your subscription.
If you don't have a current subscription:
- You can pre-order issue 34 in print for £4.99 (plus postage) here. Please note that there is no publication date yet for issue 34.
- Alternatively, you will be able to order the digital version for immediate download when it is published. We will share details of how to buy a digital copy via our Newswire email service, which you can sign up to here.
A big thank you for your support for these changes we're having to make to continue offering the service in future.
